Meet the Hextable Wind Band
We are a friendly, local community wind band that brings together passionate musicians from Hextable and surrounding areas. We welcome anyone who plays woodwind, brass or percussion who wishes to play and come together and share our love for music.
We perform concerts twice a year at the local church as well as in the community, playing different genres of music, such as classical, big band, swing, music from films and movies, pop and contemporary music.
Our goal is to keep music live within our community whilst having fun.
Meet Hextable Training Band
Hextable Training Band consists of children and adults who have been playing wind or brass instruments for 6 months or more. The music is written for their capabilities to allow them to play alongside more experienced musicians. They also perform 2 concerts a year and have the opportunity of performing with Hextable Wind Band during these concerts.
What are the benefits of playing in a Wind Band?
Playing in a wind band goes far beyond simply learning to play an instrument. It improves your musical ability ad develops reading music, rhythm, intonation and listening skills; builds your ensemble skills by learning how your part fits in with everyone else; develops confidence in your playing and performing to overcome nerves; introduces the musician to a wide range of music; teaches you team work as everyone encourages one another.
The best thing of all is that you create friendships as the band brings people of different ages and backgrounds to make music and have F U N!!
